Sophie's New Look creation
Throughout her school days Sophie dreamed of becoming a fashion designer.  She took her first steps first steps to achieving that by enrolling on to a 2 year course in ‘Art & Design’ at Southport College. During her time at college she undertook numerous design projects showing a major interest in fashion and silk screen printing.

Upon successful completion of her course Sophie applied for and was accepted onto the prestigious "Fashion Design BA Hons Course" at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), a 4 year course that is widely regarded as one of the country's leading fashion courses.

During her second year Sophie began portfolio preparations for the all-important third year industrial placement which is an integral part of the four years of study.

Sophie was the first person on the course to be offered a full one year paid placement with a leading UK knitwear company supplying designs to the likes of ‘New Look", "Evans", "Dorothy Perkins" and "Marks & Spencer".

During this time Sophie also turned her hand to making up her own designs and selling them at local markets in Liverpool including Liverpool's ‘The Heritage Market’ and the famous "Paddy's Market" in Great Homer Street. During this period Sophie began developing her private client list.

After a successful year in industry it was time to go back to university to complete her fourth and final year and her final graduate collection ‘Structured Hardwear’.

While designing and preparing her collection Sophie entered a competition to design a print for a dress for "New Look" and the "BBC’s Clothes Show Live".

Sophie was short-listed to the last 3 and then finally won the prestigious title of ‘Young Textile Designer of The Year 2009’. Sophie’s winning print design then went on sale in "New Look" stores through-out the UK.

Sophie was also nominated for the ‘Mulberry Accessories Award’ at London's Graduate Fashion Week.

After a very successful show at Graduate Fashion Week Sophie received lots of press with her ‘Structured Hardwear Collection", including a photo shoot with the specialist fashion magazine ‘The Hat Magazine’ in London and her collection appeared on many fashion blogs for stylists and fashion lovers.

Sophie opened her first boutique in Southport in late November 2010 where all her collections are designed and hand-made by her.
