Sophie's New Look creation
Sophie is a graduate in Fashion Design from the prestigious "Fashion Design BA Hons Course" at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), a 4 year course that is widely regarded as one of the country's leading fashion courses.
Sophie was the first person on the course to be offered a full one year paid placement with one of the UK's leading knitwear companies supplying designs to the likes of ‘New Look", "Evans", "Dorothy Perkins" and "Marks & Spencer". Her designs were successfully used by a number of leading UK retailers.
During this time Sophie also turned her hand to making up her own designs and selling them at local markets in Liverpool including Liverpool's ‘The Heritage Market’ and the famous "Paddy's Market" in Great Homer Street. It was during this period that Sophie began developing her private client list.
After a successful year in industry it was time to go back to university to complete her fourth and final year and her final graduate collection ‘Structured Hardwear’.
While designing and preparing her collection Sophie entered a competition to design a print for a dress for "New Look" and the "BBC’s Clothes Show Live".
Sophie was short-listed to the last 3 and then finally won the prestigious title of ‘Young Textile Designer of The Year 2009’. Sophie’s winning print design then went on sale in "New Look" stores through-out the UK.
